SDCC08 Goodies Roundup!
This Tuesday (07/22) I am off the International Comic-Con in San Diego through the end of the week!

Come say hello to me at booth #1335 & 1337. I will be there daily along with Dumbrella friends Jon Rosenberg of Goats, Rich Stevens of Diesel Sweeties, and Sam Brown of explodingdog plus special guest stars including puzzle maker extrodinaire Chris Yates, nerdcore rap maven MC Frontalot, Octopus Pie cooking Meredith Gran, and to top it all off Scott McCloud and Wil Wheaton will be stopping in to sign things and meet people.

A signing schedule will be posted outside the booth, but I believe I will be signing at least Thurs through Saturday around noon. Subject to change!

Thursday the 24th, 2:30-3:30 we have a panel discussion, which is usually just an hour-long Q&A and stupidity! Room 3.

We'll all be selling wonderful things so that we may continue to eat cake after paying back the nice people of the convention who charge us a lot of money to be there.

Here is a near full lineup of the items I will have available, along with prices. Unless otherwise noted, all items should be available starting preview night Wednesday and through the end of the show or when they sell out, whichever comes first!

BIC + KRINK = BRINK?
A lot has changed in the fragrant neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn since I moved here 10 years ago. Rents aside, the northerly migration of the great-white-tight-pants hipster has resulted in some good new bars and shops that would have been unheard of a few years ago.Two weeks ago a new graff supply shop called Alphabeta (some pics on amny) opened up a block away from my old place. It's a nice big space with a back room and outdoor area for events and shows. Hopefully there will be some good stuff over there.

I'm not a writer or tagger or anything and nor do I pretend to be, so I won't get into any sort of credibility debates about a 'graffiti store', but I do use a lot of spraypaints and ink markers in my regular work so I'm just glad I have a local spot for decent paint, caps and markers.

krink ball

Speaking of which, I picked up this new metal ball point tip KRINK bottle today to try out. I love this tip! The old squeeze bottles and pens are great for big areas, but this is perfect for small details and more precise control while maintaining that KRINK viscosity and look. I have some ideas..

Creatures on my Head...

Vanessa over at Giftable Designs took the "busy bear" artwork I did and converted it into this amazing knit hat / scarf / uhh.. back of the neck warmer thingy!

Original art:

There are a few more pics on her blog post.

How great is that? Any knitters out there who would be interested in a pattern / instruction sheet? Mayhaps I can work something out with her.

See Mike Draw
This may have made its rounds already but..  rarely do I enjoy a comic enough to bookmark it, however this one is right up my alley humor and art wise. I figured if I enjoy it, a lot of you might enjoy it as well!

My work on the cover of the NY Times*
* that's the Times ONLINE, and "my work" is few pixels of a photo of an illustration on a mug for my sister's cafe.. but whatever.

Go Grumpy!

Side note: 'Creatures' was actually featured in the print edition NY Times a few years back, but now I've finally made the 'front page' without killing anyone!

Creatures on my Floor...
Welcome to the newest Dead Zebra Inc employee / adoptee, Private Sancho Pants! (demoted from Captain until he decides to spend fewer than 12 hours a day hiding under the bed). He's about 3 years old and has big ole anime eyes.

the Giver - Update
Hello everyone! Been busy finishing up (er.. starting ;) some custom toys for the Kidrobot NYC store reopening this Thursday and 'Down the Bunny Hole' at Rivet in a week.. Photos of those next week!

In the meantime I wanted to drop a quick Giver toy update! I had hoped to be shipping .. well.. months ago, but realistically about a week ago. However, being anal, I decided I was unhappy with one bit so I ended up delaying things for some paint tweaks. The good news is that we are almost done and ready to go! Here are a few recent photos from the factory just because those sort of things are fun...
